The Leviathan Process
The Leviathan Process is my own personal Theatre Practice I have created and developed over many years. It was inspired by my undergraduate studying and work in various fields of Psychology, as well as my personal experience as a Theatre Practitioner. It can be taught in solo workshops and practical master classes, or stretched out over the course of a semester. The core values of the Leviathan Theatre Practice are Honesty/Trust, Communication, and focus on the individual’s humanity and energy. We all have natural skills and strengths, as well as skills that don’t come naturally. This practice can be used in a variety of ways.
1. To recognize and achieve an awareness of our natural skills. Goal: To accept our strengths and to utilize them to empower ourselves with choice to develop a personal practice to improve and grow those skills.
2. To recognize and achieve an awareness of skills that don’t come as easy. Goal: To accept our limitations and utilize them to empower ourselves with the choice to develop a personal practice to improve and grow those skills.
3. To connect to ourselves, self-reflect on our own behaviors towards ourselves, and to recognize and achieve an awareness of our own personal identity and journey as an artist and/or our own humanity in life. Goal: To develop a personal practice that empowers the self and reflects our desire for self improvement and action with respect to how we treat ourselves. To honor our own humanity and give ourselves the love, patience, respect, and kindness we need to thrive.
4. To connect to others, self reflect on our behaviors towards others and how they affect others, and to recognize and achieve an awareness of others’ personal identities and journeys as artists and/or as other human beings like ourselves. Goal: To develop a personal practice that empowers and reflects our desire to understand, connect, love, care for, and protect others’ humanity and choices.
